Historical Photos of Slave Lake Airport

The Alberta Sustainable Resource Development – Forest Protection Image Library contains several photos of the Slave Lake Airport in the mid 1960’s. Some of these can be found in the Photos section of this site.

Crews loading an Avenger air tanker with retardant. This loading site was just east of the present General Aviation Apron.
